“a pretty normal guy.”
Not in the way suburban neighbors talk about the serial killer they’ve lived next to for years. And not totally normal, either. I’m oddly fascinated by the end of the world. I don’t really like dessert. And I need to check that my stove is turned off no less than three times before leaving the house. But I’d say, overall, I’m a pretty normal guy.
I’m a father, husband, uncle, and the oldest of four siblings who I consider my best friends. Rochester has been my home since birth. I currently live in Irondequoit with my beautiful wife Pam, our son Jack, and our two cats, Melky and Huckleberry. I take prescription medication every day because I'm deathly allergic to cats. I'm not at all allergic to Pam. I like to watch and play soccer every chance I get. I love throwing things into things — washers into coffee cans, bean bags into holes — it doesn’t matter. I love it. I fancy myself a golfer now, too. I really enjoy reading but would stop well short of claiming to be well-read.
My start in advertising came as a 27-year-old intern, which led to getting hired a semester shy of graduation from St. John Fisher College. Since then there’s been a few promotions, a couple job changes, an agency acquisition, and a whole lot of fun in between. I’ve been lucky enough to learn from an amazingly talented group of people along the way and continue to learn something new every day I go to work.
It’s still sometimes hard to believe I get paid to write things. To make things. To have fun. I can finally say with confidence that this is what I want to be when I grow up.
